Hagher Mountains
Socotra's northern highlands, draped in cloud forest and rising to 1,500m. The primary biodiversity hotspot — endemic species are densest here, the air is cool, and mist clings to the peaks at dawn. Most visitors see this in passing; those who linger find it the most rewarding landscape on the island.

Wind by month
Light in winter (5 to 15 km/h Oct–Apr). Clouds build on summits by mid-morning; shoot early. Khareef makes the range largely inaccessible May to September.

Mountain horizons: sunrise often silhouetted behind peaks from Firmihin plateau; sunsets cleaner looking west toward the coastal plain.
