Tour packages
Most operators run an 8-day / 7-night tour, typically in two or three configurations:
| Tier | 2–5 people | 6–9 people | 10+ people |
|---|---|---|---|
| Comfort Journey (shared group, up to 8) | $1,300 pp | — | — |

Prices are per person in USD.

- All inland 4×4 transport
- English-speaking Socotri guide throughout
- 3 freshly prepared meals per day, plus tea, coffee, purified water, and snacks
- Snorkelling gear

What's not included

- Optional activities: diving, gyrocopter, fishing, cultural experiences — see the activities guide
How payments work
A $1,400 deposit secures your booking — this covers the charter flight cost and the tour deposit. The remaining balance is due 45 days before departure. A 60% / 40% split is also available if that works better. Final deadline is 14 days before travel.
Realistic total budget
A solo traveller on the Private Journey (smallest group tier) should plan for:
- Charter flight: ~$950
- Tour package: $1,600
- International flights to Abu Dhabi: varies
- Travel insurance: $100–250
- Tips, souvenirs, and extras: $300–400
Working estimate: $3,000–4,000+ before international flights. Groups and the Comfort Journey bring that down. Barefoot Luxury adds meaningful comfort for a meaningful premium.
Cash on the island
There are no ATMs on Socotra. All transactions are cash-only in USD. Bring at least $300–400 over and above your package cost. Bills must be new and unmarked — damaged or old notes are frequently refused.
