In practice this means Mouri Beach is reached as part of a guided itinerary rather than as a self-drive stop.
Is Mouri Beach safe to visit?+
Socotra has stayed out of Yemen's war — it lies roughly 380km offshore, and there is no record of a visitor being targeted in violence on the island. The real risk is not local: the island is served by about one flight a week, and in January 2026 several hundred tourists were stranded — some for more than ten days — when fighting on the mainland closed the air link. There are no ATMs and no hospital able to treat a serious injury.
